Bizarreland Reversed Realities

Cameroon: a place of natural wealth in all its splendour; be it the people, their cultures, the soil, the geographical position and minerals under our feet. All these glorious citations of the country's possessions make Cameroonians estimate their country as dreamland.
Now, with our characteristic political elite, things look more like bizarre land, if not, horrorland. The uncountable number of mischiefs and misconducts perpetrated by these alien kind of politicians has brought inside-out and incomprehensible social situations in the country. Thus, a reverse theory.
As a result of longtime research and experience, it has come out clear that in the field of Education, a bizarre but fascinating situation is happening in the country. It starts that a great number of our big politicians and government functionaries have proven to be prompt to buy and produce false diplomas and certificates for their children when it comes to getting them a well-paid job in government owned companies, agencies, the police, and even the army. Obviously producing incompetent and worthless staff.
In the country, it has come out clear that those persons who foster their Education to higher levels (doctorate degree and professor) are children of the poor, trampled and devalued citizens.
A very high percentage of children from very rich and influencial family backgrounds have educational qualifications (approximate to the nearest decimal point). That is, officially recognized as not being the fruit of his or her intellectual labour.
Despite all the wealth their parents have accumulated, these spoilt children school halfway. Yet, they are the same who find themselves in top ranking places and are given posts of responsibilies in our country's administration.
On the other side, I have seen many poor parents sell their land and other belongings to permit their children go for further education. Even if it does take many sacrifices for an entire family. And so, it has now become a scientific fact over here that (in a very large percentage, only people from poor family backgrounds go for straightforward prolonged studies up to doctorate degree and beyond). Not children with rich parents.
Though the high costs of prolonged education, why this situation?
This is so because these young boys and girls from poor parents dream of a brighter future where they will be taken as university lecturers. Because, at the university level, though there exist corruption, nepotism and favouritism, a minimum of intellectual knowhow is needed before one gets a job as lecturer. And, it is known by the masses that the children of our big politicians and other rich functionaries rarely take their time and go in for prolonged schooling. Knowing that their "papa" or "mama" can provide them with shortcuts.

Objet :            Respect de la vie privée
Monsieur Le Ministre,

Obama's Ancestors Provoke A Stampede For Riches

« Etone » traditional genealogist, this man-Démosthène Raphael Messanga Ombolo has come-up with something far beyond his wildest dreams.
In the course of his research, Messanga Ombolo, due to the nature of his research findings, has attracted envious on-lookers upon himself. He says « Barack Hussein Obama’s are origine of Cameroon » and of the « Etone  people» in particular. Upon hearing this researcher’s findings, many government officials, university lecturers and other academicians, journalists and animatorshave taken him in disgust as a result of their jealousy towards him.
According to the thoughts of many of these people, the name Barack Obama is equivalent to millions of CFA Francs. Therefore, as Messanga Ombolo says he has discovered Barack Obama’s indigenous  « etone family », for sure, the U.S president will send him millions of dollars.
With this selfish thought in mind, some government officials have gone to the extent of initiating grandiose ceremonies, call the national pro-governmental radio and television station to come and record the event ; all this without the concent of Messanga Ombolo who is the person who came-up with this theory.
In the main government universities in Yaoundé, a group of of lecturers, some doctors, others professors, have fraudulently copied Messanga Ombolo’s research findings and sent it to a worldwide and internationally renouned edting company [Edition L’Harmattan] in France for publishing as though they were the intellectual proprietors of all this theory.
Démosthène Raphael Messanga Ombolo, overwhelmed by the knowledge of these « big men » stealing his research findings, decided to move out and spread the information to alllocal cameroonians, every layman he could meet. This is how i met him as he was crying out his eyes on this very bad thing these fellow doctors and professors have done. Seeing him in this miserable state, i said i would help him get his work known to most cameroonians and even worldwide so that we would nulify the negative actions of these academicians who work not for the interest of science, but instead, for their selfish desires.
This is how Messanga Ombolo engaged in radio and television talk shows. From one radio to the other, he talked about his research findings and how some disrespectful lecturers plan to snatch his work and make a name for themselves.
Often in the dark, some government officials came to him and asked for Messanga Ombolo to go public and say that the village of Barack Obama’s ancestor who’s name is OBAM BITA is the same village from which he « the big man » and government official is origine too. A shameless and non-scientific act which Messanga Ombolo says he will never accept to do.  That is, [Lie to the international opinion]
Again, angry of Messanga Ombolo’s refusal, these « big men » who have government money, went ahead to corrupt journalists with other radio and television animators. These journalists would invite Messanga Ombolo for a gentleman and polite talk show. But, as soon as the programme begins, when these journalists know they are « ON AIR », they will start harrasing him with embarassing questions ;allirrelevant and nothing to do with his work. Messanga on his side will fight back and not let himself overwhelmed by these corrupt journalists. Most of the radio and television talk shows in which he participates often turn into hot, frantic debates. [one versus all]. Anonymous persons would call in the talk show via telephone and try to discredit Messanga Ombolo’s findings. But, he would invite them to come in personfor a normal intellectual debate face-to-face. Yet, nobody would come.
To the cameroonian government, Messanga Ombolo sent letters presenting the project he has for the village of Barack Obama’s grand father. What he has in mind is that the villafe, the empty tomb of « OBAM BITA » [Barack Obama’s grand father] becomes a place of pilgrimage.-This is the part that makes the « big men » salivate as they know a great number of millions will be made available for this project if it is validated.
Thus, in the ministry of tourism and the ministry culture where he submitted this project, these big government men are blocking the advancing of Messanga Ombolo’s documentsas much as is possible. They say « Messanga Ombolo wants to eat alone all the millions without giving them their own share » Hence, it is better the document does not advance.
Hatred has grown up to the level where these officials, with their ramifications all over the government apparatus, one faithful day came and shut-down Messanga Ombolo’s business. Though he has all required documents, legal papers that is. They came along with the national television which took images of the closing of the business. These same images were shown in the different televised newscasts both in French and English for everyone to see that Messanga Ombolo has been brought down to zero. Life became like hell for him. But, he did not give-up the fight..
On my part, i continued to hammer and disclose what Messanga Ombolo is going through. On the internet, certain people be it in Cameroon or abroad became interested in the plight of this man’s research findings and project. Even the very renouned publishing house « Edition L’Harmattan » in France could not publish the stolen story sent to them because already, there was enough talk about Barack Obama’s ancestral family found in Cameroon.
Messanga Ombolo on his side, wrote to government institutions about the closure of his business and the business was re-opened. He pressed judicial charges against those behind the closure of his business. But, nothing positive has yet come out of this judicial action. He wrote to the Cameroon commission for human rights. From their part, he is still waiting for an answer.
His project in the ministry of tourism demanded some subvention so that he goes to Kenya to finalise his research given that he has invested all his money in this research. This is exactly where these big government men and women hold him tight.
As Barack Obama has just invited most African heads of states, Messanga Ombolo again went to talk shows and cried out « If Barack Obama decides to come and visit his ancestor’s ground in Cameroon, how will this happen ?  since our authorities have abandoned his grand father’s empty tomb in the bush, and the village is in a miserable state, far in the equatorial rainforest »
To this question, the two ministries [ministry of tourism] and [ministry of culture] do not give a damn as to whether itis something relevant or not. What they want is that, using the name and project of of this genealogist-Messanga Ombolo, they can distract a great number of millions from the government treasury. They have gone to the point of using impostors. But, Messanga Ombolo says this situation will happen only after his death. So long as he is still alive, he will go ahead and defend his research work and its findings. These big men may can work as hard as they can to prevent him from having international recognition, the inspiration of finding Obama’s ancestors remains his. A God given inspiration.

Cameroon : A Civil Rights Activist Poisoned By Police Officers On Duty

His name is Mbock Matip ; president of a legal and recognised Association, a well known civil society activist for the wellbeing of cameroonians living in the country and abroad.
This man had long ago alerted Cameroon’s authorities via official letters , radio and television media, that he will untdertake a « Hunger strike » on the 21st of july 2014. Given that none of the many letters he has written to all governement officials has had a reply.
So, yesterday july 21st 2014, Mr Mbock Matip engaged in the action part of his hunger strike, he was sitted before « Cameroon’s monument of re-unification » - a symbolic place with respect to the unity of the old Western Cameroon [Anglophone Cameroon because under British mandate] and the Cameroun Oriental [French speaking Cameroon because under the control of France] According to colonial history.
At about 2 pm in the afternoon, came the D.O [Divisional officer] and the Commissioner of the [Yaounde 5 police district] with other police agents. They roughly got Mbock Matip in the police vehicle and drove to the city’s outskirts where they dumped him in a nearby bush.
Mbock Matip, using his cell phone, called for help from some friends who came to his rescue. Still  determined to carry-on with his hunger strike, he this time around went and sat before the entrance of the embassy of France in Cameroon. As night came,he walked back to sit before the monument of re-unification till 6 am this morning of july 22nd 2014. The same police commissioner  and agents came , got Mbock Matip in the police vehicle, and drove out of town. Upon reaching a far-away village on the highway between Yaounde and Douala, they dropped him, seized his cell phone, made him swallow some liquid substance from a syringe, took away the money he had in his pocket and abandoned him on the highway des pite his handicap.
With much luck, Mbock Matip found help in that area and phoned again his friends here in Yaounde. Volonteer helpers brought him to Yaounde ; he is suffering from severe stomach aches. He knows not what these policemen made him swallow. Anyway, friends and well-wishers have taken him to hospital.
As i write this article, i am very touched. Seeing a civil rights activist being tortured. I do not know whether by this time Mbock Matip is dead or not. I sincerely hope he is still alive.

The Good, The Bad, And The Church Goers

The church : a gathering regarded in the superlative and nevertheless as God’s treasure house. Common sense makes it that every man or woman who takes his or her time-off to go to church is obviously a God fearing person.
Yet, in the world of social relations and realities, this scenario has nothing to do with why many go to church. This makes intelligent, literate and intellectual people promptly conclude that the situation is more than enough inspirational material for research and eventually some storytelling of tales, myths ands legends. Below is a true story. I hope you understand it...
On a blessed Sunday morning, « Mr Joe » is getting set to go to church. Having put on his beautiful Sunday clothes and shoes, he heads out of the house saying « i am on my way to church ». But while on the road, « Mr Joe » realises he has forgotten something. He moves back to the house in order to do what he had forgotten. His objective is that his wife and son living in the same house should not watch television, listen to the radio, or use the electric iron to press their clothes. He puts-off the house’s electric power supply and this time around, confidently marches his way to church.
At times, i feel like beating up most of the people i see in the church. Due to their underground, clandestine  and even open actions done amongst all prayerful people or not. But, there is one question that stands out clear.
-Who gives me the right to go ahead and beat them up ?  The answer my friend, just like the wind, is blowing way in the middle of the air.
Deep down in me, i know i have the right my common sense gives me. I am literally disgusted to see to what extent some people deviatefrom the basics [common rule] of going to church.
All the same, this common sense makes me receive great consolation and therefore, automatically, i calm myself. As it helps me really understand the insights of the saying that goes like this : « Cmmon sense is not common ».

Old Aged Couple

Many years down memory lane, situations made it that two fellows met. A fter their meeting, more chemical reactions pushed them to marry and live together as husband and wife.
Today, these two fellows are our « Mommy » and « Daddy »
Mommy is a retired civil servant while daddy is a private sector retired worker. Despite all hazards, the many children they gave birth to have now become adults of their own. The girl children have made a very fast run to the extent that this time around, mommy and daddy have now become great-grand momom and great-grand dad.
On a social and personal point, from time to time, mommy, in-order to keep her marriage alive, has to fight back against other single women and widows who want to snatch her old and handsome husband. Whenever he goes to the bank to receive his monthly retirement benefits, mommy is on the alert. She knows there are young girls out there who have specialised themselves in the business of seducing old men when they come for their pension.
This past february 14 2014, it came to daddy’s mind that he should at last make his wife the honour and give her a befitting church wedding. This information was communicated to their children who together decided to take things into their own hands. News went like wild fire. Children from far and near have come together. Preparations are hitting up hard.
To our greatest surprise, we have come to realise that these two fellows still play the hanky-panky game as if they were still youngsters fresh from the farm.
That not withstanding, we have also discovered who are the jealous uncles and aunts, friends and other community relations. But, we will not allow them topedo our parent’s hapiness. Knowing that mommy considers this as the reception of one of her Holy sacraments, and more important again, the summit of her lifetime’s achievements.
